Thorntonius and the Devil

It came to pass that unto Thorntonius didst come a Visitation in the Personage of the Devil. And yet appeareth also were the Girl Child and the Small Friend, both of whom gave Succour and Comfort to Thorntonius in his Travail. And the Evil One didst try to pluck the Berry of Life from the Girl’s Mouth.

But this Filthy Plucking faileth, and soon the Devil departeth.
